Job Description

A job tutoring involves taking on a lot of responsibility and can be challenging to balance with other aspects of one’s life, but it also comes with great rewards. If you fill out the form below, you are agreeing to become a tutor trainee, and eventually, a tutor. A tutor trainee will participate in interviews and discussions with full tutors to tell us more about themselves, learn how we tutor, and practice their skills. Once they have been deemed ready, a tutor trainee will graduate to a full tutor. Once they become a full tutor, the tutor will have responsibilites to this company and its clients. A tutor will not be flighty or unreliable, letting clients and/or the principal tutor know if they need to cancel at least 6 hours in advance. A tutor will be a good communicator and make it clear when they can or can not attend a session or when they are struggling to maintain control. A tutor will maintain a fun but appropriately controlled learning environment when they are in a session. A tutor will dedicate time, specifically at least half an hour, to prepare for each session, and they will care about their client’s needs, doing the best to reflect them in their lessons. A tutor will also accept that they will recieve payments not after each session, but at the end of each week, after 10% of their profit is deducted for the company’s use. A tutor will understand that the pay rate of a session varies, but they are in no position to hand out discounts without running it by the company. A tutor will gather and take care of the necessary materials for each session (ex. paper, writing utensils, worksheets, rulers, math manipulatives, pens, erasers, answer sheets, educational activity sheets, and rewards), taking special care with their company-issued buisness cards and materials. A tutor will do their best to maintian all of these standards and understand that there may be consequences for irresponsible, unprofessional, or uncaring behavior.
